This revision is a celebration of the amazing versatility and health benefits to be found in whole plant foods. The original book inspired thousands to adopt a healthier diet, and this newly updated edition will appeal to anyone wishing to eat healthier and try out the adage of “let thy food be thy medicine.” Chef AJ shares her own inspiring journey to wellness where she learned about the healing power of whole plant foods. The authors clearly define the differences between processed vs unprocessed foods, explain why fiber- over calorie-dense is better, and offer numerous suggestions on how to replace the flavors of salt, oil, and sugar. More than 135 new and improved recipes are completely free of gluten, oil, sugar, and salt. Chef AJ creatively fuses nutrient-rich ingredients into outrageously tasteful combinations. This compendium of selections will provide nourishing and satisfying choices for anyone who wishes to feel at their best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent. Please add metric measurements to recipes

I have the original Unprocessed & am so pleased with the newer, updated, lower fat version. I also like the illustrations & the quality of the pages. I am very moved by Chef AJ’s story. As well as delicious recipes, she has a wonderful way of showing you how to achieve weight loss without depriving yourself of taste, flavour or portion size. If you are struggling to lose weight & regain your health, do not hesitate to buy this book. Its message & recipes are wonderful. Chef AJ has been a great source of inspiration & a considerable influence on my own life. I highly recommend both this book & Ultimate Weight Loss which I also own. I was lucky enough to see Chef AJ in person a few years ago, demonstrating recipes aboard the Holistic Cruise.. She looks & sounds even better in person. As I live in the UK, I would very much like to see the next edition have recipe measurements in metric as well as imperial. Whilst it certainly hasn’t prevented me using the recipes, it would make life so much easier if they were added to recipes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not ring bound

Chef AJ is a good writer and though the recipes might be fine the fact that the book is to be used for cooking would suggest a ring bound edition rather than a standard edition was needed and I returned the copy for this reason.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mostly dessert and snack recipes

Like so many such books that claim to help people eat a vegan or vegetarian diet this is another offer of fake help , a huge portion of the book is about the authors bad eating habits in earlier life then we get lots and lots of recipes for snacks and desserts ( she was a dessert addict in earlier life ) looks to me like she still is because so many recipes in this book are desserts , you cannot live a healthy life if most of what you eat is desserts and snacks such a disappointment but unsurprising really , just another person jumping on the bandwagon , we could all write a book like this it’s simply of no credible help whatsoever to people who want to become vegan or vegetarian. When oh when will we ever get a recipe book that really and genuinely gives us recipes for everyday vegetarian / vegan meals , meals we can prepare from the more common vegetables we have access to. This book requires like so many , a pantry full of dozens and dozens of ingredients that you will not use every day , herbs spices etc things that are very costly and beyond the reach of many folk okay some of them you will need but if you were to follow this books instructions you would snacking every day and eating lots of desserts , not eating proper meals , not a good way to live but I guess that’s USA style , we don’t all live in the USA where supersize meals and supersize people just want to eat desserts all day.
I want a book that gives us recipes for everyday meals that are made up of vegetables vegetables vegetables and fruit, this is NOT it.

I was so excited to get this book as I watch Chef AJ a lot on YouTube.
Unfortunately this book was a disappointment after her videos.
The book has lovely recipe ideas but not too many pictures relating the actual recipe, also 40 pages out of 160 is her story what is very fascinating and we can learn a lot from but she has other books for that. What I already purchased. I was expecting to buy a recipe book this time.
All in one it is a nice book, however I wouldn’t call it as recipe book and it is definitely way overpriced as it is.
I feel the marketing of this book was over exaggerated.

I liked that AJ shares personal stories and tells how her journey has evolved. She shares how she has continued to improve her program over the past 10 years since the book was first published.
