Explore the legendary Met, New York’s and the world’s major art museum, with your own in-app audio tour! You will also browse the exhibition in the speculative Afrofuturist Period Room. The tour begins at the Egyptian Art galleries as the museum’s primary draw is the world’s largest collection of Egyptian treasures. Here, the iconic Temple of Dendur will mesmerize you with its grandeur and interior. Next, you will get an insight into medieval life through the Met’s richest collection of Medieval and Byzantine art outside of Europe. Then, you will refocus on impressionists to see Van Gogh’s “Wheat Field with Cypresses” painting, which he regarded as one of his best summer landscapes. Other famed canvases you will muse upon are by masters like Monet, Picasso, and Klimt. Finally, you will take in Rodin’s deeply emotional and unsettling marble creations by contemplating ‘The Tempest’ sculpture.
