How to Book: 1: Choose your preferred date 2: Choose the option for your direction of travel and preferred seating (reserved seat or Green Car) 3: At the second step of booking, book the add-on for return tickets or delivery within Japan if needed 4: During checkout, tell us your second-choice departure times for peak travel, your preferred return time (if booked), and the address for delivery (if booked) or expected ticket pickup time 5: We secure tickets for a journey within 30 minutes of your chosen time, or in your second-choice time range if seats are sold out 6: Tickets are issued up to 1 month in advance; we confirm your booking when seats are secured, or as a pre-order if you book more than 1 month in advance
Delivery Conditions: • If you book the delivery add-on, we will deliver to any address in Japan in about 2–5 business days (up to 1 month before your ticket date) • Delivery usually takes up to 2 business days within Tokyo or 3–5 business days outside Tokyo • Delivery may take longer in case of extreme weather, or delivery to Okinawa or Kyushu • Tickets are sent by recorded mail: someone must sign for them on receipt, and the delivery service requires their contact information as well as full address • Please provide your check-in date for delivery to a hotel, or the homeowner’s full name for delivery to a private residence • Rakuten Travel Experiences is not liable for any missed deliveries

About Fares • A basic fare ticket is required for all train travel in Japan • Travel on the Shinkansen requires a supplemental super (limited) express ticket • To guarantee your seat, all our options include both the basic fare ticket and a super (limited) express reserved seat ticket • Travel in Green Car (first class) seating requires an additional ticket, included in our Green Car options • Child prices (ages 6–11) are half the price of adults, except for the Green Car ticket • Ages 0–5 may ride for free; see How it works for details
